Stone Falcon, Laki, Iceland

The Merlin (Falco columbarius), or “Stone Falcon,” is a small, agile bird of prey that inhabits both lowland and highland areas. With its blue-grey back and buff-streaked underparts, this falcon is a beautiful sight. It feeds mainly on small birds, which it catches in mid-air after a high-speed chase. You might spot a Merlin almost anywhere in Iceland, from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to the Vatnajökull National Park. source: wildbirdworld.com/what-birds-of-prey-can-you-see-in-iceland/
